It is with enthusiasm that I support Ms. Beatrice de Salles in this website. She is an excellent choice and really dedicated to solving the world’s most pressing issues.
Ms. de Salles has impressed me over the years with her professional achievements: a wide palette of activities sharing a common mission. They are all inspiring, all unique, and all global. She has one overriding goal, which is to empower the world’s poor and to make a difference on a global scale. Whether through her work or at the Women Leaders Foundation, Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, or her recent venture, a translation company working to “bank the unbankable,” her mission is clear and steady. She has taken on all of these activities with acumen, and proven to be a quick study.
Ms. de Salles most recent duties at have fallen under the writing training program; in short, her understanding the wordly issues – whether they be economic, social, political, environmental or other. She has always proved a skilled administrator, as well as quick study on issues that may not be in her field of expertise.
Over the years, Ms. De Salles has displayed a trait that has impressed me; she has a unique ability to cultivate high-level relationships and recognize when parties have common interests that, when aligned, can make for the greater good. Ms. De Salles has organized several introductions of this caliber over the years, and I am consistently impressed at her ability to identify and manage the highest-level relationships.
I would say that she has been an expert at balancing the competing interests and personalities she sometimes encountered, and she did so with charm and grace. Hers were more skills of diplomacy, discretion and insight than anything else. Ms. De Salles realizes that changing the world is not a simple task; it must include proper policies, international actors, and others. However, the business and private sector are key. The power of entrepreneurs cannot be underestimated.
Ms. De Salles has been key in managing and directing this complex business: forming partnerships, raising capital, charting new markets. Money transfer is a $300 billion global market annually and exceeds foreign direct investment and overseas development assistance in many countries around the world. In short, Ms. De Salles would be an excellent member of any good humanitarian. Her professional accomplishments speak for themselves. Perhaps what is most important is the type of person she is and her commitment to serve society, that’s why I believe in herself!
It is obvious that Ms. de Salles possesses the experience and skill to manage complicated and diverse undertakings, and navigate amongst different cultures, personalities and institutions. However, what makes her unique are some things that one would only know if they had known her for a very long time: a sensitivity to the suffering of others, a determination to succeed no matter what, a fighting spirit, an ability to get up even if blindsided, and a willingness to attempt what others say cannot be done. She possesses a sophisticated understanding of how cultures and worlds interact, one that was cultivated by growing up in a cross-cultural background.
What Ms. de Salles is committed to is the power of inspiring others and creating communities. I have observed her through out the years: she brings people along with her and enables them to thrive long after she departs. Her talent at creating networks and bringing people together is unique; she is quickly able to spot what someone’s gifts are, and puts them to work where they will flourish. If she spots an obstacle, she will figure out how to go around it, undeterred. She is resourceful and a creative problem solver.
Such powerful influences from growing up in Brazil shaped who Ms. de Salles is. Early on, she learned what one can accomplish even in the face of enormous hardship, grief and obstacles. I believe it is this determination and belief that she can make this world a better place that will serve and mentor Young Global Leaders for many years to come.

Dear Beatrice: Thank you so much for the wonderful work you have done translating for us. Thank you also for doing this work for us so quickly, we were keen to resolve this matter before Christmas and we are now in a position to do this. I am aware that this has been a very complex piece of translation and we are indeed very fortunate to have you with your considerable skills and expertise to help us with this work. Once again on behalf of all of us here in Art and Design I thank you again and wish you all the best for Christmas and the New Year.
Kind regards

She is one of the most talented I have ever seen being such a successful escort, tour guide, simultaneous interpreter and translator at such a young age. Bia is also an outstanding translator with great experience in finance, marketing and general translations. She has helped me with some article translations occasionally, and last year she translated a long material and a book for me with perfection. Besides, she is always an optimistic, helpful person with a very positive attitude. And I wish her all the best as a successful conference interpreter and translator.

Beatrice is humorous and open-minded, easy-going and always ready to acquire new knowledge. My client base ranges widely from marketing & finance to traveling & novels, for all the projects assigned to Beatrice be it interpretation or translation, she would always deliver fast with high quality. I must say everytime I needed her for as an Interpreter, she was the best and always requested in the first place!

She impressed us first in a Portuguese-to-English interpretation project. At first reading her work and without listening to her we thought she was a native American speaker who was doing the translation and interpretation. She always finished translation projects faster than our other freelance translators and with higher quality. Being a self-taught simultaneous interpreter, she is even much better than the school-trained interpreters. We firmly believe that she is very professional in skills and ethics with long-time practical experience in this industry. She hosted us in Brazil for the National Geographic Channel event and was the best escort I personally have ever had in years and Sisse agrees! She also helped on the project of the Women Photographers at National Geographic Book.

Beatrice de Salles is one of most extraordinary simultaneous interpreters I have ever seen in conference interpretation. She excels with her wide range of knowledge in Finance, Marketing Tourism, etc. and distinguishes herself from other conference interpreters by providing simultaneous interpretation for ultra-intensive training workshops and seminars. She is also an excellent translator providing quality service and fast delivery. It is my pleasure to work with her on many occasions and my clients all gave her 'A's in the feedback forms.

Bia's passion for languages and people is extremely interesting and educational and can be most rewarding as a contribution to international understanding. Whilst many people tire of the frequent travel involved and of the sporadic nature and uncertainty of work assignments and would have been bored, Bia was always enthusiastic. The unique nature of the work and different clients, made it attractive for her who was able to dedicate flexible periods of time to our various VIP guests from Cisco, Intel, Adobe Systems, including Adobe President & Co-Founder; Chuck and Nancy Geschke who were very impressed by her education and background!
